Senior Pictures

Recently my new adventure has been taking Senior Pictures!! I can honestly say that I did not know that it would be this much fun or that I had any REAL talent for it. I can honestly say that I am not the best photographer out there, but these are not the worst pictures ever taken either. :)

I began taking the Senior Pictures for my brother (above) and a family friend Madelyn (below). The money I receive from the photo shoots is going toward my mission trip to Ecuador this summer.

What I found from this experience is my love for finding venues to take the pictures at and executing the shoots with my camera. Along with that, the possibility and scary thrill of total failure and discovery of no talent with photography but instead conquering with these amazing results.

The real breakthrough came after my third outing with the girl shown above. I was on a photoshoot JUST ME, not a family friend or a brother. Obviously, I wanted to please my parents and friends with my pictures but it is different when it is less personal and more professional. The photoshoot alone was not my breakthrough, that came when I was editing the photos.

Within her eyes was me, taking the picture! This really, truly spoke to me. The title of my blog/business is "Through the Lens of His eyes" and seeing myself in the reflection from her eyes reminded me of that. Finding the beauty of what God created and reflecting that through my photography.
Is photography THE career path for me, maybe not, but God has gifted me in this area and if I have the opportunity to share that gift and display God's love sign me up!
